Survey experiences trans* health care

Experience with trans* health care in the Netherlands?

Between 7 April and 20 May you could share your experiences with trans* health care in the Netherlands. The survey is closed now, and we are busy with processing all your data. Please keep an eye on this website and social media for updates!

All experiences

It doesn't matter if you have a lot of or little experience, or received trans* related health care, or a long or a short time ago. If you ever considered getting trans* related health care, but gave up on it, or couldn't proceed, or your wishes couldn't be made true, we would like to know this as well.

In short, we aim to determine your needs regarding trans* health care and all experiences, both positve and negative ones.

All trans* people

The survey targets all trans* people: anyone who doesn't identify (completely) with their gender label assigned at birth. This can be non-binary trans* people, trans women, trans men, androgyonous, genderfluid, or intersex people. We would like to improve health care for a diverse group of trans* individuals as possible.

Results

The results of the survey will be processed into a report, which will appear by the end of Summer 2016. This will provide us with concrete results, so we can enter into dialogue with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, and health insurers.
Together we will look at how they can help to address the problems with trans* health care in the Netherlands. Principle 17 aims at good trans* health care: if you need it, when you need it, as you need it.
In the meantime a first presentation of some of the results has been held at the Amsterdam WPATH Symposium that has been held from 17 to 22 June. You can find text and presentation as PDF here on the site.
