New booklet on being transmasculine in a multiple system

Being transmasculine in a multiple system has its own challenges, on top of the challenges of being transmasculine and the challenges of living in a multiple system. The unique booklet ‘Being Transmasculine in a Multiple System’ describes guidelines and tips, based on expertise and lived experience, for multiple systems who want to know more about this.

This special booklet is intended for multiple systems, such as DID or OSDD. Especially for multiple systems that were born with female sexual characteristics and that (possibly) have one or more system parts that experience these body characteristics as not entirely or not at all fitting their gender identity.

Trans man Jochem Verdonk and Naomi Brée with the Achdut system have joined forces to compile information, from both expertise and lived experience. The result is a very accessible and complete booklet, with which multiple systems with trans male parts can be put to practical use.

The information starts with ’trans 101′ which describes the most common symptoms of gender incongruence. Very useful to know for system parts that (possibly) have to deal with trans male parts, but may not yet be aware of it. After this introduction to being trans, a simple, but not easy exercise follows that invites the reader to map out their own gender(s).
The authors then give useful tips on what you can do yourself to look more masculine. It is clear that these tips are based on experience: glasses and clothing, binders and packers, voice and movement, and more. Even small interventions, such as a different haircut, are discussed.
The booklet ends with the most important references where you can meet trans men and non-binary people.

The booklet is clearly compact with 18 pages and is packed with valuable information. Never before was there information for this specific target group, with this information finally answering a long-standing question.

The booklet ‘Being transmasculine in a multiple system’ can be downloaded (free of charge). (pdf, 18 pages, 640 kb)
