Experience with trans* health care in the Netherlands?
Between April 7 and May 20, you could share your experiences with trans* health care in the Netherlands with us. The survey has now been closed and we are busy processing all the data. Keep an eye on this site and social media for updates!
All experiences
It does not matter whether you have received a lot or little, long or recently, trans-related health care. We would also like to know if you have considered trans health care, but decided against it, or were unable to continue, or if your wishes could not be realised.
In short, we are looking for your needs regarding trans health care and for all experiences, both positive and negative.
All trans people
The survey is intended for all trans people: anyone who does not (fully) identify with their gender assigned at birth. Such as non-binary trans people, trans women, trans men, androgynes, gender fluid people or intersex people. We would like to improve health care for the most diverse group of trans* people possible.
Results
The results of the survey will be included in a report that will be published at the end of the summer. This gives us concrete results, so that we can enter into discussions with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and health insurers.
In consultation we will look at how they can help tackle the problems with trans health care in the Netherlands. Principle 17 strives for good trans health care: if you need it, when you need it, the way you need it.
In the meantime, the first results have been presented at the WPATH Symposium that took place June 17-22, 2016 in Amsterdam. You can download text and presentation as PDF.
